The Ascent Biplane airframe is a masterpiece of traditional Japanese build art. The whole aircraft is build up from a balsa kit by Narutech Service in Japan, the company of former twice World Champion Gichii Naruke.
The Ascent Biplane is the most perfect build and flying aircraft I ever owned. The Ascent Biplane has the capability to perform the toughest FAI schedules with ease and thanks to the noise absorbing benefits of the wooden airframe, the Ascent Biplane has a beautiful silent sound which makes him comparable to none. Indeed it is something very special to be one of just few owning such a masterpiece from Japan!
For a special aircraft only a special engine is the right choice! I decided to go with the all new Yamada YS DZ-185 CDI RED.
The benefits over the „normal“ DZ-185 is that the RED-Edition got an all new injection system which makes the engine more fuel economic and eliminates the issue of broken check valves.
The equipment of the Ascent BIP is a bit of special. For the power supply I chose the proven Powerbox Digi Switch in the 7,4V version and seven Futaba BLS 173SV for throttle, aileron and elevator. The rudder is equipped with a Futaba BLS 172SV.
The servos are incredible fast, are highly accurate and have much power for crispy snaps.
